About Leo
The 2009 recession greatly influenced my decision to major in mathematics and finance, prior to the crisis I was planning on majoring in creative writing. I was relieved to be hired as a financial analyst out of college but immediately was confronted with poorly designed softwares.
In 2015, I met Philip Yenawine, and learned about Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS). I was captivated by the facilitated discussions, and I wanted to be able to use VTS at work. In 2018, I discovered the world of UI/UX through a design thinking course and was inspired to learn more. I knew I had found a career field that is in need of VTS.
In 2020, I enrolled in the Interaction Design and Information Architecture, a three year Masters program at University of Baltimore. My thesis project began May 2022, I am designing a user guide showing how to apply VTS in User Experience, for research and design. My anticipated graduation date is August 2023.
In my free time, I enjoy painting surreal and abstract landscapes, Dorothea Tanning, Agnes Pelton, and Odilon Redon are my main inspiration. Among other things, VTS awakened a deeper love for visual art and inspired me to begin painting.
